The Other Things
Alright my dearest, esteemed friends. I need help. My warped little brain requires guidance to understand the words of the famous President, JFK. I don't think it will be necessary to know and read the whole speech. I have looked for possible clues in the speech. This is not a conspiracy theory. It is merely a question. I am referring to the famous Rice Moon speech. In this speech, JFK says, and I quote:
"We choose to go to the moon. We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things..."
What is "the Other Things?" No really, I want to know, because, maybe we did something that I don't know about that was just as cool as going to the moon, though I doubt it, because what's cooler than going to the moon, except maybe spending the afternoon with Marilyn Monroe...
" We choose to go to the moon and the others things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard," so, technically Monroe is still a candidate, at least for a Family Guy skit. ".. because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too." So, wait, what's more than going to the moon, and winning, and 'the others, too." I am really confused by 'the Others."
Is the Other Things part of a Dean R Koontz novel? That might be cool. That might be scary, but we could apply that. Is he referring to Aliens. That could be cool. There is circumstantial evidence that Reagan wanted aliens as a way to band humanity together, but he failed to mention the Other Things. Does that mean the Other Things were forgotten? Or maybe they just put the Other Things aside, because some Other Things came about, and so we got distracted, like a kid who isn't getting their ADHD meds because his mom and her book club are using them?
